About The Position

PROACT is seeking a motivated Procurement Intern eager to learn and develop within the fresh produce industry. This internship provides hands-on exposure to purchasing, supplier relationships, inventory coordination, and market dynamics in a fast-paced, real-world environment. PROACT is America’s leading distributor of fresh produce to the fresh food industry, leveraging a network of over 50 distribution companies operating more than 70 independently owned distribution centers across the United States and Canada. The company sources perishable products from premier local, national, and regional suppliers, offering a one-call solution to fresh food operators through category cost management, commodity contract pricing, in-house consultation services, and integrated produce program distribution management.

Requirements

Interest in agriculture, supply chain, or the fresh produce industry
Strong communication and organizational skills
Detail-oriented and reliable
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Outlook)

Nice To Haves

Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a related program

Responsibilities

Assist the procurement team with day-to-day administrative tasks
Coordinate information between procurement, operations, and accounting teams
Help compile simple reports and spreadsheets related to orders and inventory
Assist with special projects as needed to support the department
Gain exposure to how market conditions, seasonality, and quality impact purchasing decisions
