About The Position

PROACT is looking for a motivated Procurement Intern who is eager to learn and develop within the fresh produce industry. This internship offers hands-on exposure to purchasing, supplier relationships, inventory coordination, and market dynamics in a fast-paced, real-world environment. PROACT is America’s leading distributor of fresh produce to the fresh food industry, utilizing its network of over 50 distribution companies operating over 70 third-party inspected, independently owned distribution centers across the United States and Canada. PROACT sources perishable product from premier local, national, and regional suppliers and markets a one-call solution to fresh food operators who benefit from PROACT’s category cost management through commodity contract pricing, in-house consultation services, and integrated produce program distribution management.

Requirements

Interest in agriculture, supply chain, or the fresh produce industry
Strong communication and organizational skills
Detail-oriented and reliable
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Outlook)

Nice To Haves

Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a related program

Responsibilities

Assist the procurement team with day-to-day administrative tasks
Coordinate information between procurement, operations, and accounting teams
Help compile simple reports and spreadsheets related to orders and inventory
Assist with special projects as needed to support the department
Gain exposure to how market conditions, seasonality, and quality impact purchasing decisions
