About The Position

As part of the comprehensive internship program, interns will participate in events which help them build a strong network within the SJI community and with fellow interns. Interns enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid work environment throughout this 11-week summer program. The Ignite Internship Program also offers participants mentorship, educational seminars, volunteer opportunities, and visibility within the organization. The Procurement & Supply Chain Summer Intern will support the Procurement team with projects and daily activities while gaining hands-on experience in a corporate procurement and supply chain environment. The internship will provide exposure to sourcing, purchasing, supplier management, and data analysis.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Interest in developing a career in procurement and/or supply chain management.

Responsibilities

• Assist with procurement and supply chain projects and initiatives.
• Support sourcing and purchasing activities.
• Assist with supplier research and information gathering.
• Support the organization and maintenance of supplier, purchasing, and contract information.
• Assist with data analysis, reporting, and tracking.
• Participate in team meetings and collaborate with internal business partners.
• Support process improvement initiatives.
• Assist with other procurement and supply chain projects as assigned.
