About The Position

Within our Global Procurement department - Materials, Manufacturing & CAPEX (MMC) Network, we are looking for a Senior Delivery/Procurement Expert to support the procurement of engineering, planning, civil engineering, architecture, MEP design, Construction Management \ General Contractor, and other related services. This role supports the execution of a Greenfield Capex Project for a new Drug Product Manufacturing Site located in Holly Springs, North Carolina. The position requires working onsite at our Holly Springs, North Carolina site. The opportunity involves working independently and in close contact with our Americas Engineering Delivery Managers, local and regional suppliers, and Pharma Technical Engineering project teams. You will independently lead project procurement activities in the areas of engineering, planning, building construction, production systems, CQV services, process equipment, and automation services in close coordination and collaboration with the engineering project team. You will advise internal stakeholders on capital investment execution models, commercial strategies, contracting forms, and drive a supplier governance framework with the Project’s key vendors, while adhering to the Lean Methodologies employed by the Project. Together with the project teams and/or technical departments, you will independently carry out supplier discussions/bidder discussions. Together with engineering, you will negotiate work contracts with suppliers/bidders on your responsibility based on specified work contract drafts. You will advise the engineering/project teams on commercial issues, including claims management. You will bring analytical thinking, planning, execution, and focus to the procurement sourcing and delivery capability area. Using your specialized knowledge and in-depth expertise in a specific category or spend areas and procurement overall, you will proactively identify and drive strategies and approaches for managing and sourcing third party spend requirements. You can also play the role of Category strategy owner in charge of driving, coordinating and signing the category strategy. You will collaborate with internal procurement (such as Business Partnering, Insights, Analytics, Contracting, etc.) and business stakeholders to build and implement comprehensive category sourcing and spend management strategies, contracting and supplier relationship management (SRM) that are aligned to business needs and functional objectives.

Requirements

  • University degree, with a business or life science degree preferable.
  • 7+ years with procurement (multi-category) or relevant sales or customer management leadership experience, ideally in a matrix organization.
  • Strong demonstrated success in building and cultivating collaborative and productive relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Solid leadership experience in a matrix organization.
  • Extensive procurement experience and deep specific category knowledge in one or more categories.
  • Strong experience in procurement systems and processes.
  • Deep knowledge and experience in the Consulting Services commodity area and knowledge of adjacent commodities.
  • Skills in project management.
  • Fluent in English to a Business level.
