About The Position

Shimmick is seeking an experienced Procurement Contract Specialist to be based out of the greater DFW or Austin, TX area. In this role, you will focus on reviewing contract terms and conditions to ensure compliance with applicable laws and Shimmick company policies while assisting in developing contracts aligned with company objectives. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Thorough working knowledge of purchasing policies, processes and procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • 6+ years of experience administering, negotiating, and managing complex contracts and procurements within the heavy civil construction industry.
  • Negotiation experience, including indemnity, disputes, etc.
  • Contract experience within a heavy civil general contractor.
  • FARs (Federal Acquisition Regulations) and DFARS (Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement) experience.
  • ERP system experience (CMiC, JD Edwards, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the administration and communication of all elements of contractual terms and conditions from proposal stage through contract close-out and audit.
  • Directly and through subordinates, assist all departments in developing contracts within company policies.
  • May prepare requests for quotations and proposals, analyzes quotes and proposals received, selects vendors and subcontractors, schedules and expedites deliveries and follows up on invoices received.
  • Demonstrates the ability to formulate and compile a variety of related Contract packages with responsibility for administering these packages during execution, including formation of the necessary documentation for adequate Contract control.
  • Examines estimates and delivery schedules.
  • Supports procurement processes and reviews for compliance with applicable procedures.
  • Responsible for the management of subcontracted professional, construction, and general services.
  • Negotiate favorable terms and develop risk mitigation strategy.
  • Prepares requests for proposals analyzes quotes received, selects vendors, schedules and expedites deliveries and follows up on invoices received.
