About The Position

We are seeking a results-driven Procurement Category Specialist to join our Corporate Procurement Team in Houston. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing strategic sourcing initiatives-specifically within MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) -across the organization. The ideal candidate brings a solid foundation in supply chain principles, exceptional contract negotiation skills, and a proven ability to lead complex projects from kickoff to completion while collaborating effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in a procurement or supply chain role (Oil & Gas industry experience preferred).
• Direct experience in strategic sourcing for MRO.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as Oracle (Cloud or EBS), JD Edwards, or Glovia.
• Strong contract negotiation skills, data-driven analytical abilities, self-motivation, and the capacity to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Background check and drug screening.

Nice To Haves

• Oil & Gas industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive procurement strategies for assigned categories (MRO emphasis) to drive value and optimize supply chain performance.
• Prepare, manage, and execute RFQs and RFPs to evaluate and select the best supplier partners.
• Lead supplier negotiations regarding pricing, discount structures, master service agreements, and commercial terms.
• Conduct market research, analyze company spending patterns, and identify cost-saving and process-improvement opportunities.
• Partner closely with site personnel, leadership, and external manufacturers/distributors to align procurement strategies with business needs.
• Track, evaluate, and report on key procurement metrics and supplier performance.
