About The Position

Hitachi Digital is seeking a Procurement Category Manager to be responsible for the strategic sourcing of services for Marketing, Human Resources, Consulting, and Finance categories in the Americas. This role will also involve global category project execution and collaboration with the global team. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in procurement, capable of managing complex projects, analyzing procurement scenarios, negotiating high-value contracts, and managing vendor relationships. This role requires strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to ethical sourcing and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

• 4 years of experience in Procurement sourcing and category management.
• Understanding of basic procurement law with correlating ability to negotiate/oversee: master supply agreements, professional services agreements, statements of work, change requests, amendments.
• Experience in some of the following Procurement categories: Marketing, Human Resources, Professional Services, and Financial Services.
• Demonstrated track record of leading the sourcing process, working with stakeholders across businesses and geographies.
• Proven ability to communicate, influence and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels of an organization.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and must be a team player.
• Excellent negotiations skills with the ability to negotiate large volume, high risk deals independently.
• Strong supplier management skills.
• Able to navigate a fast-paced multi-national environment with personnel from all over the many regions and will seek to foster excellent working relationships.
• Must be well organized, confident in navigating demands from stakeholders, a natural self-starter with a willingness to learn and embrace new methodologies, whilst employing excellent communication, influencing and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working in eSourcing tool environment a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree is Preferred

Responsibilities

• Obtaining goods/services required by the organization, including Indirect Operations (e.g., Office Supplies, Computers, Travel, Maintenance, Machine Parts, etc.) and Direct Operations (e.g., Raw Materials and Services for Manufacturing, Production or Construction; Products for Retail, etc.).
• Managing procurement processes including Product/Service Sourcing, Supplier Selection, Pricing/Terms Negotiation, Order Processing, Contract Administration, and Supplier Performance Management.
• Strategic sourcing of services for Marketing, Human Resources, Consulting, and Finance categories in the Americas.
• Executing global category projects with the global team.
• Analyzing complex procurement scenarios and aligning negotiation strategies with long-term business goals.
• Managing the development and execution of sourcing projects, reverse auctions, and initiatives.
• Negotiating high-value, complex service contracts to generate savings and non-monetary benefits.
• Structuring contracts to optimize cost, mitigate risk, maximize cash flow, and ensure performance and compliance.
• Evaluating financial implications, total cost of ownership (TCO), and ROI of IT solutions.
• Using procurement analytics to identify cost-saving opportunities and assess vendor risk.
• Managing post-contract practices to enforce terms and monitor vendor performance.
• Developing and maintaining a global preferred supply base for respective areas of responsibility.
• Fostering long-term partnerships with strategic vendors.
• Managing vendor scorecards, SLAs, and escalation processes.
• Communicating needs and negotiating effectively.
• Influencing IT Executives and IT Senior leaders to adopt Procurement best practices.
• Ensuring ethical sourcing and compliance with data privacy, security, and regulatory standards.
