About The Position

Develops a global sourcing strategy for commodities (categories.) Defines project scope and facilitates execution, identifying savings opportunities in order to provide differentiating value. Works with Business Area, Business Unit or Enterprise-wide, cross-functional teams to analyze supply base risks & opportunities, identify new sources of supply and meet business requirements. Negotiates and manages contracts and relationships with suppliers to drive innovative strategies that enhance performance. Implements policies and metrics to ensure that savings goals are realized and performance requirements are achieved. Acts as the main focal point for all matters pertaining to the given category. Responsible for quality and performance of supplier products. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions.

Requirements

  • Generally has 8+ years of related experience
  • May have a post-secondary degree or training in a related discipline.
  • Experience with FAR & DFARS procurements
  • Self Driven, self motivated
  • Data Analytics: The ability to pull insights from raw data to forecast demand, and track key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Managing timelines, organizing logistics tasks, and ensuring products move efficiently from origin to the end customer.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Communicating clearly across departments and with internal and external customers and stakeholders.
  • Ability to respond to shifting priorities.
  • Strategic mindset and approach.
  • Comfortable presenting to Sr. Mgr. and Director level customers/stakeholders.
