About The Position

The Procurement Buyer is responsible for procuring the highest-quality products and services at the most competitive prices, creating and maintaining positive relationships with our global suppliers, attaining on-time deliveries, and ensuring that the proper inventory levels are always kept. The role will be directly involved in purchasing components the company uses to support sales and services for use by our company.

Requirements

  • Manage inventory levels using the ERP system and Excel spreadsheets
  • Build and maintain good relationships with new and existing suppliers
  • Develop strategies to make sure that cost savings and supplier performance targets are met - or exceeded
  • Evaluate bids and make recommendations, based on commercial and technical factors
  • Ensure suppliers are aware of our business objectives
  • Improve lead times
  • Assist with processing rush orders
  • Dynamic, consistent review of safety stock

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Purchasing Manager, and utilize the ERP system to determine demand for raw materials, manage supplier relationships, lead negotiations, track quality, price, and delivery metrics
  • Ensure orders are delivered timely for production and shipping
  • Document all materials quality, received from our partners
  • Review inventory accuracy and maximize inventory turns
  • Ensure that inventory is available to meet performance goals
  • Manage inventory levels using the ERP system and Excel spreadsheets
  • Liaise between suppliers, manufacturers, relevant internal departments, and customers as needed
