About The Position

The Procurement & Inventory Manager is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing the flow of goods and materials, while maintaining optimal inventory levels to support business operations. This role balances cost control, supplier relationships, and stock accuracy to ensure the right materials are available at the right time without overstocking or shortages.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3-5+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or inventory management
  • Experience with ERP/inventory systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, QuickBooks, etc.)
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in Excel/data analysis
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Strong communication skills for cross-departmental coordination
  • Knowledge of supply chain principles (JIT, EOQ, demand forecasting)
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills

  • CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management)
  • APICS/ASCM CPIM or CSCP
  • Six Sigma certification (a plus)

Responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers and vendors to secure favorable pricing, terms, and delivery schedules
  • Create and manage purchase orders, ensuring timely approval and delivery
  • Monitor market trends and pricing to make cost-effective purchasing decisions
  • Build and maintain strong vendor relationships; resolve disputes regarding quality, pricing, or delivery
  • Negotiate and manage supplier contracts, renewals, and SLAs
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, budget constraints, and company standards
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using inventory management software (e.g., ERP, WMS systems)
  • Set and monitor reorder points, safety stock levels, and economic order quantities
  • Conduct regular physical inventory counts and cycle counts; reconcile discrepancies
  • Minimize excess, obsolete, or slow-moving stock through forecasting and demand planning
  • Coordinate with warehouse staff on receiving, storage, and stock rotation (FIFO/LIFO as applicable)
  • Analyze inventory turnover and carrying costs to optimize stock levels
  • Collaborate with production, sales, and finance teams to align inventory with demand forecasts
  • Prepare reports on procurement spend, inventory levels, supplier performance, and cost savings
  • Identify process improvement opportunities to increase efficiency and reduce costs
  • Support audits and ensure compliance with internal controls
