About The Position

The Industrial Operations Procurement Analyst bridges the technical demands of engineering and the strategic goals of sourcing. This role leverages technical expertise and a solid understanding of supply chain dynamics. It is a key liaison between procurement, engineering, and project management. Frequently leads or coordinates special projects and complex procurement transactions, particularly those involving mechanical designs, engineered components, or technically demanding services, and supports Supply Chain management in mapping and refining procurement workflows using lean principles and oversees KPIs such as PO cycle time, vendor scorecards, and delivery accuracy.

  • Strong knowledge of purchasing software and systems to be able to efficiently support the purchasing process.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines to be able to manage a high volume of work.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or related discipline) or equivalent Technical degree.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in technical procurement, strategic sourcing, or industrial purchasing.
  • Visio and Flowcharts experience required
  • Skilled in ERP platforms, RFQ tools, and reviewing complex technical specifications.
  • Solid understanding of quality assurance protocols and vendor compliance standards.
  • Familiar with lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodology, and relevant regulatory requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Quality assurance certifications like Six Sigma Green Belt (preferred)
  • Procurement certification preferred (e.g., CPSM, CPP, or similar).

Responsibilities

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Spends approximately 70% of their time coordinating, tracking, and executing high-value, technically complex procurement transactions. Acts as a strategic liaison across engineering, finance, supply chain, and production teams to ensure seamless communication and shared understanding of organizational needs. Effectively bridges internal requirements with external vendor capabilities by translating technical specifications into supplier-facing requirements, ensuring alignment with the vendor’s technical departments. Collaborates closely with engineers, project managers, and quality assurance teams to harmonize procurement efforts, streamline operations, and support cost-efficient, cross-departmental objectives.
  • Strategic Supply Chain Support: Dedicates 30% of time to supporting Supply Chain Management in the evaluation, mapping, and continuous improvement of workflows using lean methodologies. Collaborates closely with leadership to analyze operational processes, identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks, and implement streamlined solutions. Utilizes data-driven insights to monitor vendor performance, optimize sourcing strategies, and improve key performance indicators (KPIs). Maintains detailed documentation, performance scorecards, and audit-ready records to promote transparency, efficiency, and compliance across all procurement-related activities.
  • Vendor Performance Monitoring: Owns and maintains vendor performance tracking using supply chain KPIs. Analyzes supplier data to assess delivery accuracy, responsiveness, quality compliance, and cost-effectiveness. Recommends actionable improvements to Purchasing Manager to enhance vendor metrics. Supports the design of dashboards and performance reports to leadership, while evaluating supplier certifications, technical capabilities, and adherence to quality standards.
  • Cost Optimization: Analyze cost structures and suggest ways to reduce waste. Actively supports lean supply chain initiatives by recommending cost-saving strategies and implementing purchasing solutions that enhance operational efficiency without compromising quality.
  • Projects and Special Purchasing or Transactions: Leads or coordinates the execution and follow-up of project-related, special purchase orders, and contracts. Takes full ownership of procurement within Industrial Operations, ensuring sourcing strategies are tailored to the technical and operational needs of assigned categories. Performs other related projects and assignments as business dictates.
