About The Position

This position involves working within a team of procurement professionals to action material requisitions based on MRP planning recommendations for assigned commodities. The role requires issuing Request for Quotation (RFQs) to approved suppliers, negotiating pricing and delivery terms, and awarding Purchase Orders (POs) in compliance with company procurement policies. The Procurement Analyst will establish working relationships with supplier sales counterparts, actively resolve delivery misalignments and overdue orders, and collaborate with Commodity Managers on strategic initiatives and supplier issue escalation. Additionally, the role involves resolving delivery, receiving, and accounts payable issues promptly, and supporting business needs by collaborating with Material Planners. The Procurement Analyst is expected to maintain their order backlog regularly to facilitate manufacturing planning through MRP, mitigate schedule risks, and escalate issues as appropriate. The role also includes working with the buying team for training, resources, and team building. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential for building internal and external relationships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 2 years work experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong individual workload organization skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Strong communication skills and email management
  • Inclination toward proactive continuous process improvement
  • Candidate must be local to the Endicott, NY area.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of FAR and DFARS regulations
  • Previous experience in procurement of various commodities
  • Familiarity with Oracle ERP
  • Professional Supply Chain certifications such as CPIM or PMP

Responsibilities

  • Action material requisitions per MRP planning recommendations for assigned commodities.
  • Issue Request for Quotation (RFQs) to approved suppliers using controlled sources.
  • Negotiate pricing and delivery terms with suppliers.
  • Award Purchase Orders (POs) while adhering to all company procurement policies and procedures.
  • Establish working relationships with supplier sales counterparts.
  • Actively work with the supply base to resolve delivery misalignments and overdue orders.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives and escalate supplier issues with Commodity Managers.
  • Resolve delivery, receiving, and accounts payable issues in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with Material Planners to support meeting the needs of the business.
  • Maintain order backlog on a regular basis to facilitate proper manufacturing planning through MRP.
  • Mitigate schedule risks and escalate as appropriate.
  • Work with the established buying team for training, other resources, and team building.
