About The Position

The Procurement Specialist / Buyer supports project and operational procurement through sourcing, supplier management, purchasing execution, and data-driven decision-making. This role partners with project managers, operations, suppliers, and stakeholders to procure materials, equipment, and services efficiently, competitively, and in alignment with company objectives. The ideal candidate combines commercial acumen, procurement systems knowledge, analytics capability, and comfort with AI-enabled procurement tools.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, or related field.
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant procurement experience may be considered.
  • 3-5 years of procurement, purchasing, sourcing, or supply chain experience.
  • Experience supporting construction, industrial, manufacturing, engineering, or related industries preferred.
  • Experience conducting supplier negotiations and managing commercial transactions.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.
  • Experience with procurement, purchasing, ERP, or supply chain systems.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, communication, and project-environment skills.
  • Experience using AI-powered business tools such as Microsoft Copilot, procurement intelligence platforms, contract intelligence tools, or comparable technologies.
  • Ability to validate AI-generated outputs while applying sound commercial judgment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with category management, spend analysis, category strategies, supplier segmentation, sourcing roadmaps, supplier consolidation, total cost of ownership, and category planning.
  • Coupa and construction procurement experience.
  • Supplier qualification, contractor compliance, and contract management system experience.
  • Professional certifications such as CPSM, CPM, CSCP, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Source and procure construction materials, equipment, services, rentals, and subcontracted work.
  • Develop RFQs, RFPs, and RFIs; evaluate supplier quotations for price, compliance, lead time, service, risk, and total cost.
  • Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, delivery schedules, and contractual requirements.
  • Create and manage purchase orders, contract releases, documentation, change orders, and PO revisions.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with strategic and preferred suppliers.
  • Participate in supplier reviews and monitor quality, delivery, responsiveness, and compliance metrics.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to resolve supply chain disruptions and service issues.
  • Use procurement and ERP platforms such as Coupa, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar systems.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing, supplier, contract, catalog, workflow, and punch-out data.
  • Support digital procurement initiatives, system enhancements, and process automation.
  • Analyze spend data to identify savings, supplier consolidation, and sourcing opportunities.
  • Develop procurement dashboards, reports, KPI metrics, and data visualizations.
  • Support supplier diversity, compliance, and reporting requirements.
  • Leverage AI-powered tools to improve procurement productivity, decision quality, RFQ development, bid analysis, contract review, supplier research, market intelligence, spend reporting, data analysis, and risk identification.
  • Ensure responsible AI use in accordance with company policies, cybersecurity, and data governance standards.
  • Partner with project managers, operations, finance, accounting, and estimating teams.
  • Support project procurement planning, material forecasting, and supply chain risk mitigation.
