About The Position

This role focuses on strategic purchasing and vendor management, including developing purchasing plans, sourcing and negotiating with vendors, and building strong supplier relationships. It also involves procurement operations such as managing Divvy cards, purchase orders, and stock transfers. The position requires data analysis and market awareness to inform buying decisions and track key purchasing metrics. The Procurement Agent will also provide support to various departments including Sales, Operations, Warehouse, Accounting, and Procurement.

Requirements

  • 1+ years working with large data sets
  • Problem Solving – Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner
  • Relationship Management & Internal Support – Solicits and acts on feedback from internal sales teams and external vendors to optimize service and collaboration; manages complex or challenging stakeholder situations with diplomacy; responds promptly and reliably to requests for operational support and assistance; consistently delivers on commitments

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Science, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management preferred
  • 3–7+ years of experience in purchasing, inventory management, or supply chain preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic purchasing plans aligned with inventory needs and sales forecasts
  • Source, evaluate, and negotiate with vendors to optimize cost, quality, and delivery performance
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure reliability and responsiveness
  • Monitor vendor performance (pricing, lead times, fill rates) and address issues proactively
  • Expedite open purchase orders, proactively following up with vendors to ensure on-time delivery and communicating delays or issues to internal stakeholders
  • Assist in the creation, issuance, and management of Divvy cards for the sales team, ensuring proper usage and compliance
  • Support purchase order (PO) lifecycle including creation, review, approval, and closure
  • Enter and manage stock transfers across branches/warehouses to maintain optimal inventory levels
  • Analyze and make recommendations based on data related to commodity pricing trends and supply market changes
  • Collaborate with Procurement team to provide insights that inform buying decisions and cost strategies
  • Track and report on key purchasing metrics (cost savings, vendor performance, lead times)
  • Support the Sales, Operations, Warehouse, Accounting, and Procurement departments as needed
  • Provide support to the procurement department by helping with vendor purchase orders, branch transfers
  • Eclipse reporting, vendor maintenance, and other general purchasing activities
