About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Campus Access Coordinator, the Access Services test proctor is responsible for the administration and test security procedures for students who have been approved for learning and testing accommodations utilizing numerous approved methods. This is a part-time position which is limited to no more than 28 hours per CMC’s workweek. CMC’s workweek is Saturday through Friday.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree or two-year college certificate, vocational school or technical program beyond high school, business college or similar training efforts and 1-year related work experience, or High School Diploma/GED and 2 years related work experience. Or equivalent education and experience that will provide the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the functions of the position.
  • Knowledge of a variety of standard administrative and business methods and procedures.
  • Knowledge of standard Microsoft Office software.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English well.
  • Ability to operate a variety of office equipment.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheets and electronic mail.
  • Ability to monitor details and follow written directions.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong verbal, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to working effectively with students, employees, and community members of all backgrounds.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship.
  • Successful completion of a background check including motor vehicles records report will be required.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) or conversational language abilities preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Administering and supervising test taking for students with approved testing accommodations.
  • Test supervision can include in-person testing, paper-based exams, as well as technology assisted testing.
  • Follow specified testing rules and security procedures to ensure the testing environment is securely maintained.
  • Preparing testing room for examination.
  • Verifying student identity, supervising the testing environment per faculty/test requirements, maintaining the security of the exam(s).
  • Maintaining records of testing experience (ex. time started, approved materials, irregularities that occur, etc.).
  • Understand and maintain confidentiality expectations as provided by supervisor.
  • Being present during all testing sessions.
  • Working with the Access Coordinator to manage testing schedules at multiple locations.
  • Provide administrative support to the Access Coordinator as needed, including successful use of Accommodate Management software.
