About The Position

Ensure large batches of product are made according to standards in industrial size cookers. Accurately weigh minor ingredients into pails (brutes) per instructions on batch sheet. Assemble ingredients per batch sheet onto pallets along with pails and timely completion of all required production documentation. Included in overall duties is to take samples, record and report accurate measurements and counts, transfer ingredients, as well as maintain safe and sanitary conditions throughout plant. Requires close communication and coordination with production supervisor, process operators, scheduling, quality assurance, maintenance, and warehousing.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Able to accurately weigh (scale) proper ingredients into pails (20# -100#)
  • Able to operate control systems to draw ingredients for weighing.
  • Able to read and understand production schedules, mixing formulations, various product labels, ingredient contents and proportions.
  • Able to follow safe work habits regarding lifting and material safety.
  • Safely operate pallet jack and walk-behind forklift to move materials.
  • Communicate clearly with others in support positions.
  • Take the initiative to organize and accurately perform all job functions required to meet volume and quality of product scheduled.
  • Take action necessary to insure continuous product flow.
  • Communicate clearly with others in process and support positions.
  • Complete required production pick plans.
  • Regular attendance is an essential part of this function.
  • Accurately transfer ingredients.
  • Coordinate area cleaning so that work is done efficiently and correctly.
  • Follow and adhere to safety, operating, SQF, and GMP procedures
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
  • Regularly lift and or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Read and interpret documents.
  • Must be able to accurately perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division functions as required for efficient materials management and production.
