About The Position

At LifeNet Health, the Processing Technician Dermis plays a vital role in advancing the mission of saving lives and restoring health through regenerative medicine. This position is responsible for performing all aspects of processing, preservation, and storage of tissues in an FDA-regulated environment. The role operates within a team under aseptic conditions, performing controlled production processes and quality assessments of tissue products and documentation. The complexity of the role varies based on physical demands, anatomical knowledge required, number of graft lines processed, complexity of processes, equipment operated, and manual dexterity needed. These roles are critical to transitioning donor gifts into lifesaving and health-restoring allografts for patients globally, contributing directly to life-changing outcomes.

Requirements

  • High School or GED required
  • Must be 18 years of age or older to apply
  • Zero years of work experience is required
  • Able to perform tasks thoroughly and with care; checks work to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Able to convey information verbally and in writing
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications, Computer Software, Databases
  • Able to learn new skills, grafts, and adapt to developing product lines
  • Able to prioritize multiple, competing priorities and manage time/workload
  • Able to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Required to sit, stand, bend, walk and lift up to 50 lbs. for the duration of the shift
  • Must wear personal protective equipment to include: surgical gowns, masks, visors or goggles and caps.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Tissue Banking Specialist (CTBS) Certification preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • One (1) year Tissue Processing Experience preferred
  • Technical skills (preferred)
  • General knowledge of anatomy, able to use surgical instrumentation and equipment

Responsibilities

  • Performs all aspects of processing tissue (debridement, dissection, cutting, cleaning and disinfection, sizing, assessing) according to current procedures and protocols.
  • Reviews work orders or processing instructions/scheduling prior to initiating production and adjusts plans as needed with supervisors.
  • Assists supervisory team in production enhancement and improvement initiatives.
  • Performs all aspects of packaging and preservation of tissue products (confirmation of sizing, quality, packaging materials, cryopreservation, etc.) according to current procedures and protocols.
  • Documents all processes and functions performed in accordance with all procedures and protocols.
  • Performs post-processing decontamination of equipment and the processing room according to current procedures and protocols.
