About The Position

At LifeNet Health, you will help save lives, restore health, and bring hope to patients and families around the world. This role is in the Production & Logistics department and is a full-time position working Saturday-Monday from 5:45 PM to 6:30 AM. The position is clinical and requires the ability to sit, stand, bend, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs. for the duration of the shift. Personal protective equipment, including surgical gowns, masks, visors or goggles, and caps, must be worn. As a Processing Technician Dermis, you will perform all aspects of processing, preservation, and storage of tissues in an FDA-regulated environment. You will work in a team environment under aseptic conditions, performing controlled production processes and quality assessments of tissue products and documentation. The complexity of this role varies based on physical demands, knowledge of human anatomy, number of graft lines/product families processed, complexity of processes, equipment operated, and manual dexterity required. These roles are critical to the LifeNet Health mission as they are an important step in transitioning donor gifts into lifesaving and health-restoring allografts for patients globally. Requirements

  • High School or GED required
  • Must be 18 years of age or older to apply
  • Zero years of work experience is required

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Tissue Banking Specialist (CTBS) Certification preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • One (1) year Tissue Processing Experience preferred
  • Able to perform tasks thoroughly and with care; checks work to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Able to convey information verbally and in writing
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications, Computer Software, Databases
  • Able to learn new skills, grafts, and adapt to developing product lines
  • Able to prioritize multiple, competing priorities and manage time/workload
  • Able to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Technical skills (preferred)
  • General knowledge of anatomy, able to use surgical instrumentation and equipment

Responsibilities

  • Reviews work orders or processing instructions/scheduling prior to initiating production.
  • Works with production supervisors to adjust plans as needed.
  • Performs all aspects of processing tissue (debridement, dissection, cutting, cleaning and disinfection, sizing, assessing) according to current procedures and protocols.
  • Assists supervisory team in production enhancement and improvement initiatives.
  • Performs all aspects of packaging and preservation of tissue products (confirmation of sizing, quality, packaging materials, cryopreservation, etc.) according to current procedures and protocols.
  • Documents all processes and functions performed in accordance with all procedures and protocols.
  • Performs post-processing decontamination of equipment and the processing room according to current procedures and protocols.
