Processing Team Member (Monday-Friday, No Nights & No Weekends) - Prattville
About The Position
America's Thrift Stores is looking for dependable, hardworking individuals to join our Processing Team. As a Processing Team Member, you'll play an important role in preparing donated merchandise for the sales floor by sorting, inspecting, pricing, and organizing items. This is a fast-paced, hands-on position that is ideal for someone who enjoys staying active and working as part of a team. Success in this role comes down to three things: reliability, a positive attitude, and a willingness to work together. Requirements
- At least 18 years old.
- Dependable with excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Team player who works well with others.
- Strong work ethic and ability to stay productive in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to follow directions and maintain quality standards.
- Comfortable performing physical work throughout the day.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred.
- Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
- Stand, walk, bend, reach, stoop, and climb throughout the shift.
- Work in both indoor and outdoor environments with varying temperatures.
- Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods.
- Attention to detail.
- Eager to sort through donations searching for treasures.
- Neat and organized.
- Love getting a lot done every day.
Responsibilities
- Receive, sort, and inspect donated merchandise.
- Prepare, clean, and price items for the sales floor.
- Load and unload carts safely and efficiently.
- Package and organize products for shipping when needed.
- Operate equipment, including balers, following all safety procedures.
- Keep your work area clean, organized, and safe.
- Work closely with your team to maintain an efficient product flow from donation to the sales floor.
- Sort donated items and identify great finds.
- Help identify recyclable items. Even if we can't sell it, we keep it out of the landfill.
- Get those great finds sales floor ready.
- Load and unload carts to get merchandise out safely and efficiently.
