Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in food or beverage manufacturing
  • Experience operating thermal processing equipment and pasteurizers
  • Better Process Control School (BPCS)
  • Understanding of GMPs, HACCP, and food safety documentation
  • Comfortable working with perishable ingredients and managing cold storage
  • Able to safely work around food products, which may include common allergens such as dairy
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist for up to 8 hours

  • Experience with sauce production and/or dairy preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the right ingredients are in the right tank at the right time for delicious, high-quality Torani sauce production.
  • Proactively engage in critical process communications.
  • Operate multiple equipment areas, showcasing mechanical aptitude.
  • Check batch viscosity and color, and monitor time-sensitive ingredients.
  • Ensure optimal operation of kettles, agitators, and pumps.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues, from temperature probes to flow meters, to resolve processing and pasteurization problems.
  • Maintain a safe and hygienic work environment with zero safety incidents by applying GMPs, allergen management, and sanitation standards.
  • Reinforce safe practices and demonstrate care for teammates' safety.
  • Safely and effectively operate machinery and equipment, staying attentive to tasks.
  • Demonstrate acute awareness of surroundings in the Flavor Factory for personal and team safety.
  • Communicate effectively about processing, ingredients, and the manufacturing floor.
  • Proactively communicate timely information to support the manufacturing team.
  • Cook sauces to defined quality and sensory standards using working knowledge of thermal processing and automation proficiency.
  • Evaluate batches and make real-time decisions to minimize scrap.
  • Manage critical control points and focus on key quality characteristics (checking, viscosity, color, allergens).
  • Take ownership of the consistent flow of flavor to production lines.
  • Collaborate with scheduling partners and understand the thermal batching process.
  • Oversee the progression of sauce from batch processing through quality checks to sensory evaluation.
  • Work independently with batching systems, pasteurizers, and time-sensitive ingredients.
  • Coordinate effectively with filler operators and adapt to shifting priorities.
