About The Position

Under direct supervision, convert raw material ingredients into large batches of dry food mixes for blending and mixing in a high volume production environment. Provide mixing, raw material unloading/receiving, ingredient supply, quality sampling, equipment cleaning and other services.

Requirements

  • Computer literate.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times.
  • Lift 60 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Frequently climb multiple flights of stairs.
  • Safeguard product quality and follows GMP, housekeeping, and food safety guidelines.
  • Process information systematically to identify and eliminate problem causes.
  • Manage time efficiently and effectively, self motivated.
  • Manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Clearly communicate using a variety of media.
  • Develop good working relationships with fellow team members.
  • Coach, train and develop others.
  • Meet forklift certification requirements

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior food processing and packaging machinery experience preferred
  • Forklift experience helpful

Responsibilities

  • Prepare raw materials for final blender input, including weighing, combining and other manual manipulation
  • Accurately input raw material inventory transactions using various electronic handheld and computer devices
  • Manually open 50# raw material ingredient bags and physically dump into blending systems
  • Perform manual equipment set-ups, tear-downs and cleaning within standard time requirements
  • Assist with unloading bulk raw materials from rail cars, tracks and other large volume delivery systems and transfer into appropriate silos
  • Visually weigh and examine equipment and product for cross contamination, color, saturation, lumps, and other key attributes or defects for quality control
  • Operate powered forklifts and manual pallet jacks to move materials within production areas
  • Complete and process documentation related to receiving, inventory, equipment cleaning, safety, shift communication, and other areas in a clear, accurate, and timely manner
  • Consistently follow safety, quality, GMP and other company guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Work overtime as needed
