About The Position

The Processing Supervisor will lead by example in modeling safety behaviors and attitude, ensuring employees comply with EHS policies and requirements. This role involves direct supervision of processing personnel, including material handling laborers, warehouse specialists, shipping packers, and clamp truck operators. The supervisor will assign duties, ensure fulfillment of production schedules, and promote a team environment through cross-training. Responsibilities include ensuring the continuous flow of products, verifying correct product identification, troubleshooting potential plant problems, and assisting with equipment operation and maintenance. The role also involves communicating safety guidelines, initiating and assisting with personnel issues, evaluating performance, and ensuring product processing aligns with contractual requirements and customer satisfaction goals. The supervisor will also generate reports, communicate company policies and requirements to employees, coordinate with other supervisors to maximize flow and productivity, and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Requirements

Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.
Four years supervisory experience or four years’ experience in a production or warehouse environment.
Computer proficiency required (MS Office preferred)

OSHA 30-Hour certificate is preferred upon hire but will be required within 3 months.
Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) certification preferred upon hire but will be required within 12 months.

Responsibilities

Lead by example in modeling safety behaviors and attitude.
Ensure employees comply with EHS policies and requirements by frequently visually verifying compliance.
Immediately engage employees not in compliance.
Participate in injury management, incident investigation, cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
Recognize employees for their work contributions regularly through informal and formal recognition.
Provide direct supervision for processing personnel to include material handling laborers, warehouse specialists, shipping packers, and clamp truck operators.
Assign duties for personnel in each processing function and ensure fulfillment of production schedules in all areas.
Conduct cross training and promote a team environment to ensure all employees can perform efficiently in all processing functions.
Ensure the flow of products into the various departments on a continual basis.
Verify that all products are identified correctly by type, quantity, and lot number.
Troubleshoot and forward any potential problems within the plant to the Plant Manager.
Assist with proper operation and maintenance of all production equipment in the plant.
Review all safety guidelines, workplace safety policies, and OSHA requirements with personnel.
Initiate and assist with personnel issues, including disciplinary actions, promotions, evaluations and interviews.
Evaluate and monitor the performance of processing personnel.
Ensure product is processed in accordance with contractual requirements.
Understand and implement established departmental goals and objectives to maximize customer satisfaction.
Generate and prepare prescribed reports for management that detail department goals and objectives.
Communicate customer requirements, company policies and procedures, ethics philosophy, EEO/AA, safety guidelines and OSHA requirements to employees, and require compliance.
Confer with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments to maximize overall flow and increase productivity.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
