About The Position

The Processing Tech is responsible for operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining fryer, seasoning, and raw pellet blending equipment, assuring that preset standards for product safety & quality and machine productivity are attained on a continuous basis.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience operating sheeting machines or similar machinery in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and make machine adjustments.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products.
  • Basic math skills for measuring and adjusting machine settings.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, including production orders and machine manuals.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
  • Must be able to understand and proactively endorse GMP product protection regulations.
  • May be exposed to hot temperatures from processing equipment.
  • May work close to others, usually within a few feet.
  • Compliant with ventilation, cleanliness, space, lighting, and noise level standards.
  • Standing for extended periods.
  • May repeat the same physical motions frequently.
  • Often wear safety equipment such as gloves, hair nets, steel toed safety shoes/boots and beard nets.
  • Willingness to work in a noisy and sometimes hot manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to bend or twist their body.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs to shoulder height on an intermittent basis.

  • Previous experience operating sheeting machines or similar machinery in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate the machinery according to production specifications.
  • Adjust machine settings to comply with the current specifications for pellet quality.
  • Operate Fryers, Pellet and seasoning equipment.
  • Monitor the machine during operation to detect any issues and make necessary adjustments.
  • Complete Equipment and area cleaning as needed.
  • Select the correct formula for processing parameter sand sets the machine controls as necessary.
  • Work under the direction of the production supervisor and consult the production schedule to determine the item scheduled to run.
  • Make independent judgements relative to machine function, use common tools as needed, and communicate effectively with Quality and Maintenance personnel.
  • Inspect finished product for quality, ensuring they meet specifications.
  • Identify and address any defects or inconsistencies in the product.
  • Maintain records of production output and quality.
  • Must follow Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Safety, and Food Defense.
  • Understand HACCP and Food Safety principles and verify compliance to all Critical Control points and Preventative Quality Checkpoints to ensure a safe quality and product is produced consistently.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues to minimize downtime.
  • Coordinate with supervisor and the maintenance team for more complex repairs or issues.
  • Perform changeover including removal of all guards, tensions, rollers.
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Report any safety hazards or incidents to the supervisor.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Load and unload bins onto the machine using appropriate lifting techniques.
  • Conduct the mixing and loading of ingredients into the machinery.
  • Ensure materials are handled and stored properly to prevent damage or contamination.
  • Maintain appropriate levels of mixed raw materials.
  • Work closely with the production team to meet daily and weekly production goals.
  • Optimize machine operation to reduce waste and maximize efficiency.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance.
