About The Position

The Processing Educator is responsible for the creation, revision, and ongoing development of a comprehensive training program. This includes instructional and assessment materials, procedures, and learning resources such as work tools, workflows, and samples of work, both manual and electronic. The role involves providing instruction to new and existing employees on a variety of laboratory workflows through one-on-one interactions, computer-based training, and classroom settings. The educator ensures the quality of instruction aligns with standardized training program objectives, provides remediation to learners as needed, and utilizes feedback and ongoing coaching to facilitate successful program completion. Additionally, the Processing Educator functions as a Central Processing Laboratory subject matter expert, developing a thorough understanding of upstream and downstream processes impacting laboratory workflows, and assisting in the design and improvement of these workflows.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 6 months experience in a laboratory, education/training, or healthcare role.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and website navigation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Positive, professional attitude and demeanor.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree in a healthcare, education, or science field.
  • 2 years of experience in leadership or instructor/education role.
  • High attention to detail in order to verify/match letters and numbers to prevent mislabeling.
  • Maintain composure while working under pressure; ability to perform job duties with frequent interruptions and/or distractions.
  • Critical thinking, problem solving skills, decisive judgment and follow through.
  • Able to organize and prioritize multiple projects/duties at once.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to provide constructive feedback and coaching and to conduct one-on-one and group training sessions.

Responsibilities
