About The Position
The Smalls Operator is responsible for handling, sorting, trimming, and packaging smaller meat cuts and product pieces during processing. This position helps ensure product quality, proper weight specifications, and efficient workflow while maintaining food safety and sanitation standards in a refrigerated production environment.
Requirements
- Previous manufacturing, warehouse, or food production experience preferred but not required
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures
- Dependable attendance and punctuality required
- Ability to work well independently and with a team
Responsibilities
- Sort and inspect meat products according to size, weight, and quality standards
- Trim excess fat, remove defects, and prepare products for packaging or further processing
- Portion smaller cuts to meet customer or production specifications
- Package, label, and organize finished products for storage or shipment
- Monitor product appearance and report quality concerns to supervisors
- Keep workstations clean and sanitized throughout the shift
- Follow all food safety, USDA, HACCP, GMP, and company procedures
- Safely operate production tools and equipment as trained
- Assist with line setup, product movement, and general production needs
- Work as part of a team to meet daily production goals
