About The Position

The 1st Shift Processing Associate is responsible for preparing, trimming, seasoning, and processing meat products according to production schedules and quality standards. This position plays a key role in ensuring products are properly handled, processed, and prepared for packaging while maintaining strict food safety and sanitation standards.

Requirements

  • Ability to stand and work on feet for entire shift
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs regularly
  • Frequent bending, twisting, reaching, and repetitive hand movements
  • Ability to work in cold/refrigerated temperatures
  • Comfortable working around raw meat, machinery, moisture, and production noise
  • Previous manufacturing, warehouse, or food processing experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
  • Strong attention to detail and product quality
  • Good attendance and punctuality required
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

  • Process raw meat products according to production requirements and specifications
  • Trim fat, remove defects, and prepare products for seasoning, smoking, cooking, or packaging
  • Weigh and portion products to meet required size and weight standards
  • Load, unload, and transfer product between workstations or processing areas
  • Inspect products for quality, consistency, and appearance
  • Maintain steady production flow to meet daily output goals
  • Safely operate knives, slicers, grinders, and other processing equipment as trained
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and company safety procedures
  • Keep work area clean and sanitized throughout the shift
  • Report equipment issues, safety concerns, or product quality concerns to supervisors
  • Assist with additional production duties as assigned
