Requirements

  • Requires hands-on capability to operate all machinery and equipment within the boundaries of available manuals, instruction, and personal expertise.
  • Able to work in cold a refrigerated environment of 34 -37 degrees.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs.
  • Operate all functions of position alone and without assistance if necessary.
  • High school education or up to one year of related experience or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read/write/record data and perform mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to direct a diverse group of people with excellent written or oral communication.
  • Attendance is critical; employee must be dependable to report to work on time and work a flexible schedule.
  • Required to follow “Safety policy” and report employee accidents or unsafe work conditions to Production Manager.
  • Must have working knowledge and experience in the preparation of food items.
  • Ability to work under more than average stressful conditions.
  • Ability to perform work in limited physical space with variable ventilation, smoke and extreme temperatures.
  • At least 2 years of Production and Processing leadership experience
  • Intermediate word and excel skills for correspondence and reporting duties
  • Excellent organizational skills

Responsibilities

  • Supervising employees in Production and Repack.
  • Monitoring and recording the operation of the machinery/equipment and production process to attain daily production requirements.
  • Effectively train and/or assist in training production and repack personnel to operate the machinery/equipment and understand production methods and quality standards.
  • Adhere to existing corporate policies and procedures in the Production Department.
  • Following all allergen procedures.
  • Assisting in maintaining accurate documentation related to employee performance, machinery/equipment operation, and production of finished products.
  • Ensuring audits and preventative maintenance schedules are performed to established procedures.
  • Providing the Production Manager with objective feedback to affect objective evaluations.
  • Meeting or exceeding daily production requirements per product specifications as set by production planning.
  • Performing other job-related duties and responsibilities in a timely fashion as requested.
  • Being responsible for Food Safety and Quality.
  • Covering in the absence of the Production Managers.
  • Train and monitor production staff by giving direction on daily tasks to meet production deadlines.
  • Report all food safety and quality issues immediately to management.
  • Ensure Production and repack crew is processing food according to HACPP and GMP regulations.
  • Pack items in designated containers or bags per customer order.
  • Order and plan for daily ingredients needed for recipes of food service items.
  • Oversee that crew is safely using equipment as necessary in preparation of food service items by providing training and appropriate PPE.
  • Operate all functions of position alone and without assistance if necessary.
  • Oversee that production employees are accurately storing, labeling, and dating all incoming food product to ensure maximum shelf life and fixing any discrepancies.
  • Ensure all food storage areas are properly secured and locked.
  • Provide a clean and orderly work area for employees to ensure safety and ensure proper sanitation guidelines are followed.
  • Helping the Department Manager and the SQF Practitioner ensure that SQF standards are being met and the department is always audit ready.
  • Approving timecards and managing other wage/hour duties such as missed punch forms and sick time entry.
  • Collaborating with other departments on projects that add value to the organization and department.
  • Computer work (outlook, excel, TEAMS).
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • All employees are responsible for food safety and are expected to notify the appropriate manager, supervisor, or key personnel if they witness any compromise to food safety or quality.
