About The Position

Corning is a world leader in glass, ceramic, and materials science, with technologies that push the boundaries of what's possible. The Optical Communications segment has evolved into a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions. This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use. The Role Purpose is to perform technical duties and activities within prescribed time frames and participate in projects to improve overall process and technical efficiency.

Requirements

High School or equivalent
2+ years manufacturing environment experience OR 2 + years in a technical role
Creative/innovative problem solving
The ability to learn new technology and processes quickly
Proficient in Microsoft Office Products

Nice To Haves

Associates or Bachelors Degree
Successful track record of performance in previous work experiences
1-3 years work experience

Responsibilities

Takes initiative to identify and resolve equipment and process issues
Participates in projects and proposes solutions to problems
Trains new personnel to standard operating procedures
Creates and manages documentation
Maintains and ensures confidentiality of information/materials
Gives periodic status reports in written and verbal formats
Interacts effectively with multiple levels of the organization to ensure continuity and efficiency
