About The Position

This position is responsible for the manufacturing, packaging, and distribution of specialty chemical resins. The role involves batch manufacturing, which includes charging raw materials, processing batches, monitoring and recording key process parameters, and troubleshooting. Other responsibilities include loading, unloading, cleaning equipment, packaging product, maintaining a safe and orderly work area, assisting other production areas as needed, and overall plant housekeeping.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Experience in a chemical manufacturing environment preferred
  • Safety-conscious, highly motivated team player who is able to work independently
  • Able to climb ladders
  • Able to work outside in all weather conditions
  • Able to lift up to 50lbs
  • Able to wear PPE including full face air purifying respirator
  • Willing to work overtime as needed

Responsibilities

  • Packaging finished product
  • Loading tank trucks
  • Cleaning process equipment
  • Preparing thin tanks for resin batches
  • Gathering raw materials for pre-stages
  • Operating blend tanks
  • Handling monomer and catalyst charges
  • Completing dispersion and emulsion batches
  • Performing in-process QC testing
  • Loading reactors with raw materials
  • Monitoring and troubleshooting batch process parameters
  • Performing in process and final product QC testing
  • Safe-work/high-hazard work permitting
  • Following operating procedures for job tasks
  • Operating forklift to move materials around the plant
  • Performing tasks assigned to operations (raw material charges, equipment preparation, process samples, etc.)
  • Daily communications (Safety, Shift Change, Shift planning)
  • Coordinating daily activities with and reporting any issues to the Production Team Lead
  • Maintaining proper housekeeping practices in the production area
  • Using a computer for communication, online training, and other tasks
  • Supporting other Production Team members as needed
  • Completing required Training assignments on-time
  • Following HES and Operating Discipline procedures and practices
  • Proper handling/disposal of hazardous waste materials
  • Participating in Root Cause Investigations
  • Executing Emergency Response procedures
  • Supporting all AIMS initiatives
  • Ensuring workplace safety by participating in the Behavior Based Safety Observation program
  • Participating in HSEQ activities
  • Operating and field checking process equipment
  • Monitoring process conditions, equipment and control systems
  • Performing in-depth troubleshooting of process equipment and systems
  • Using plant knowledge and skills to make improvements in plant performance
  • Helping troubleshoot plant and customer problems
  • Contributing to value creation by continuous improvement of procedures, operations work processes, and related tools and performance metrics
  • Performing all other duties as assigned
