About The Position

As a Process Technician at IPL Schoeller, you will be responsible for overseeing the setup and operation of equipment, material use, labeling, and related activities on your assigned shift. This role involves managing molding machine setup, including ancillary equipment, and ensuring repeatable results by following and documenting process parameters. You will also be responsible for processing molding parameters to achieve quality parts and optimized cycle times, responding promptly to machine alarms, and developing and implementing repeatable molding processes. Additionally, you will carry out prescribed maintenance and repair operations on injection molding machines and related equipment, diagnose problems, and implement effective solutions. This includes repairing/replacing components, assembling/disassembling molds, and maintaining a required inventory of spare parts. You will also participate in the development of preventative maintenance and standardized work procedures, use troubleshooting skills to improve processes, manage and troubleshoot work stoppages, investigate equipment deficiencies, and recommend modifications. Accurate time and production records must be maintained.

Requirements

Experience with injection molding machines
Ability to manage molding machine setup, including ancillary equipment
Skill in following and documenting process parameters
Ability to process molding parameters to achieve quality parts and optimized cycle times
Capability to respond promptly to machine alarms
Experience in developing and implementing repeatable molding processes
Proficiency in carrying out maintenance and repair operations on injection molding machines and related equipment
Skill in diagnosing problems and implementing effective solutions
Experience in repairing/replacing components, switches, sensors, etc.
Ability to assemble, disassemble, and maintain molds and wire switches
Experience in maintaining a required inventory of spare parts
Ability to participate in the development of preventative maintenance and standardized work procedures
Troubleshooting skills to improve and develop repeatable molding processes
Ability to manage and troubleshoot work stoppages
Skill in investigating equipment deficiencies and recommending modifications/improvements
Ability to maintain accurate time and production records
Adherence to all prescribed safety precautions and utilization of personal protection equipment (PPE)

Responsibilities

Adhere to all prescribed safety precautions and utilize personal protection equipment (PPE) as required. Promote a safe work environment.
Oversees the setup and operation of equipment, material use, labeling, and related activities on assigned shift.
Assist with the installation of molds/dies, assist the maintenance staff with mold changes using a hoist crane, and maintain molding machines.
Manage molding machine setup, including ancillary equipment.
Follow and document process parameters to ensure repeatable results.
Process molding parameters to achieve quality parts and optimized cycle times.
Respond promptly to machine alarms.
Develop and implement repeatable molding processes.
Carry out prescribed maintenance and repair operations on injection molding machines and related equipment.
Diagnose problems and implement effective solutions.
Repair/replace components, switches, sensors, etc.
Assemble, disassemble, and maintain molds and wire switches.
Maintain a required inventory of spare parts.
Participate in the development of preventative maintenance and standardized work procedures.
Use troubleshooting skills to improve and develop repeatable molding processes.
Manage and troubleshoot work stoppages due to handle-installer malfunction.
Investigate equipment deficiencies and recommend modifications/improvements.
Maintain accurate time and production records.
