About The Position

The Process Technician is responsible for setting up and operating injection molding machines, managing material processes, and teaching good shop techniques while refining managerial skills. This role involves working with engineering on new processes, performing quality control checks, and maintaining critical molding parameters. The technician will also be involved in labeling, packaging, material handling, and assisting in maintaining department equipment. A key aspect of the role is to initiate process improvements and contribute to the company's quality system.

Requirements

• 5 Years Experience as Molding Technician or equivalent
• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Experience with JD Edwards preferred

Responsibilities

• Work with Engineering to write new part condition sheets and help plan new processes.
• Perform and oversee quality control checks using computers, precision measuring equipment, and visual inspection.
• Clean, changeover/set-up molding tools, and make adjustments to injection molding machines and related equipment.
• Operate machinery.
• Check and maintain critical molding parameters.
• Perform the soaking operation of molded products.
• Use hydraulic and air pressure equipment.
• Read part drawings.
• Labeling and packaging product.
• Perform material handling duties (grinding, house cleaning, rework, labeling, etc.).
• Teach the trade to training and lower-level technicians.
• Help plan molding schedules and plan alternate routings when needed.
• Oversee and maintain accurate records (inspection results, inventory movement & transfer, etc.).
• Accurately receive and transfer product using the computer system.
• Assist in maintaining molding department equipment.
• Initiate process improvements and facilitate department improvement meetings.
• Contribute to the quality system through continuous improvement and involvement in waste-eliminating activities.
• Maintain and promote Fenner Precision Polymers’ values and behaviors.
• Learn and follow EHS policies, rules, and work instructions.
• Attend required EHS training.
• Wear the required PPE at all times.
• Take personal responsibility for safety by participating in risk assessments, workplace inspections, corrective actions, and safety observations.
• Report incidents, near misses, unsafe conditions, unsafe acts, and other hazards.
• STOP WORK when imminent danger is present.
• Maintain work area in a neat and orderly fashion and keep equipment in proper working condition.
