About The Position

The Process Technician is responsible for setting up and operating injection molding machines, processing and controlling materials, and developing shop techniques and managerial skills.

Requirements

  • 5 Years Experience as Molding Technician or equivalent
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Experience with JD Edwards preferred

Responsibilities

  • Work with Engineering to write new part condition sheets and plan new processes.
  • Perform and oversee quality control checks using computers, precision measuring equipment, and visual inspection.
  • Clean, changeover, and set up molding tools, and make adjustments to injection molding machines and related equipment.
  • Operate machinery.
  • Check and maintain critical molding parameters.
  • Perform the soaking operation of molded products.
  • Use hydraulic and air pressure equipment.
  • Read part drawings.
  • Labeling and packaging product.
  • Perform material handling duties including grinding, house cleaning, rework, and labeling.
  • Teach the trade to training and lower-level technicians.
  • Help plan molding schedules and plan alternate routings when needed.
  • Oversee and maintain accurate records, including inspection results and inventory movement and transfer.
  • Accurately receive and transfer product using the computer system.
  • Assist in maintaining molding department equipment.
  • Initiate process improvements and facilitate department improvement meetings.
  • Contribute to the quality system through continuous improvement and involvement in waste-eliminating activities.
  • Related duties as assigned.
  • Maintain and promote Fenner Precision Polymers’ values and behaviors at all times.
  • Learn and follow EHS policies, rules, and work instructions.
  • Attend required EHS training.
  • Wear the required PPE at all times.
  • Take personal responsibility for safety by participating in risk assessments, workplace inspections, corrective actions, and safety observations.
  • Report incidents, near misses, unsafe conditions, unsafe acts, and other hazards.
  • STOP WORK when imminent danger is present.
  • Maintain work area in a neat and orderly fashion and keep equipment in proper working condition.
