About The Position

A leading electronics testing company is seeking a Process Technician, Surface Mount Technology to support electronics manufacturing operations by maintaining SMT equipment, troubleshooting production issues, and improving manufacturing processes.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Electronics, Manufacturing Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, assembly, SMT, electronics, or other technical production environments.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, work instructions, and technical documentation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and electronic documentation systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SMT manufacturing equipment and processes is preferred.
  • Knowledge of electronics assembly, soldering, rework, and inspection techniques is preferred.
  • Experience using diagnostic equipment such as digital multimeters and oscilloscopes is preferred.
  • Familiarity with automation, tooling, fixtures, lab equipment, and manufacturing support equipment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methods is preferred.
  • Experience working within ISO 9001 or similar quality system requirements is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve SMT equipment, process, and production issues affecting safety, quality, yield, and throughput while supporting solder paste printing, component placement, reflow soldering, inspection, and electronics assembly operations.
  • Perform equipment setup, changeovers, preventive maintenance, repairs, calibration, and production support activities to maximize equipment reliability and manufacturing performance.
  • Collect and analyze process and downtime data, support corrective and preventive actions, assist with new product introductions, engineering evaluations, prototype builds, and process development initiatives.
  • Create and maintain work instructions, process documentation, equipment records, technical reports, and support tooling, fixtures, manufacturing support equipment, and critical spare parts planning.
  • Collaborate with operators, technicians, engineers, quality, and maintenance teams while participating in Lean Manufacturing, safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives and performing other duties as assigned.
