About The Position

This role focuses on the daily execution of tasks related to surface mount technology (SMT) on the 3rd shift. Key responsibilities include setting up and operating SMT lines, performing manual component placement and inspections, tracking job progress, and conducting basic machine maintenance. The position also involves process development, including depaneling, testing, EOL programming, packaging, troubleshooting and reworking PCBs, and operating AOI machines. Continuous improvement and cost reduction are also emphasized, with expectations to identify and solve problems, participate in PDCA teams, and adhere to 5S standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to read and understand basic Process Sheet and Assembly drawings
  • Basic soldering

Nice To Haves

  • Prior electronics experience preferred
  • Knowledge PCB repair and rework of fine pitch a plus
  • Universal Instruments experience highly preferred
  • Working knowledge of IPC standards (certification a plus)

Responsibilities

  • Perform set up and tear down of feeders
  • Set-up and operation on BD, BM, BS surface mount lines equipment including (screen printer, adhesive machine, pick and place, re-flow oven)
  • Ability to perform manual component placement and visual inspections of thru-hole/surface mount components
  • Follow PCB assemblies through process, standard, and ability to report discrepancies to Group Lead or Electronics Technician A
  • Maintain accurate Job-By-Job Chart tracking
  • Perform basic machines maintenance as required
  • Perform Depaneling methods, testing, EOL programming, and packaging as standards
  • Troubleshoot and rework PCB
  • Operate AOI Machine
  • Troubleshoot surface mount lines equipments
  • Perform basic steps of Electronics Technician A level
  • Surface problems and solve problems utilizing the Just Do It board
  • Participate in PDCA teams
  • Follow 5s standards everywhere
  • Operate BD, BM, BS, Set-up, NCMA
  • Basic soldering
  • Secondary Operations responsibilities including operating AOI machine
