About The Position

The Process Technician is responsible for safely and efficiently monitoring, operating, and supporting field equipment across all plant systems under the direction of the Shift Supervisor or Lead Technician. This role helps ensure reliable plant operations by checking equipment performance, identifying and reporting issues, supporting material handling activities, and maintaining safe operating conditions. The Process Technician may work various shifts, including occasional Saturdays, based on production needs.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of safety practices, standard operating procedures, plant equipment, and plant systems.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow operating manuals, procedures, and related documentation.
  • Accurate hand-eye coordination required to operate mobile equipment and open and close valves safely and effectively.
  • Three or more years of relevant industrial, plant, or military experience with a high school diploma, or one or more years of relevant experience with an associate degree.
  • Ability to comply with standard operating procedures to reduce the likelihood of injury to employees and damage to plant equipment.
  • Willingness and ability to work rotating shifts, as assigned.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in an Energy-from-Waste plant or similar industrial environment.

Responsibilities

  • Check, verify, and document the proper operation of plant machinery, systems, and equipment, and report concerns to the appropriate supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Inspect and make necessary adjustments to equipment and operating conditions, including temperatures, pressure, water and oil levels, conveyor belts, chains, tank levels, leaks, equipment rotation, guarding, rollers, skirting, dust collectors, and related systems.
  • Maintain and support material handling systems to promote safe and efficient operations.
  • Take immediate action when safety hazards are identified and report hazards directly to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Follow and maintain standard safety procedures and standard operating procedures.
  • Assist with sampling incoming material for yield percentages, documenting loads, and reporting yield findings to the QA/QC Superintendent, as needed.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment and support shift transitions.
  • Assist other plant personnel across facility operations as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
