About The Position

Crown Equipment Corporation is a leading innovator in world-class forklift and material handling equipment and technology. As one of the world’s largest lift truck manufacturers, we are committed to providing the customer with the safest, most efficient and ergonomic lift truck possible to lower their total cost of ownership. This is an entry-level technical resource dedicated to a process or production cell within the Troy Plant, specifically for the 3rd Shift (Monday - Thursday 8:00 PM - 6:33 AM).

Requirements

  • 0-4 years of related experience.
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must be mechanically inclined.
  • Good computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office and Mechanical Drawing Software.
  • Good communication, problem solving, and interpersonal skills required.
  • Per 8-hour shift.
  • Sit 8 hours and stand 0 hours.
  • Regular interaction with others and performs a degree of independent work.
  • Infrequent lifting, walking and climbing stairs.
  • Occasional use of office equipment (copiers, printers, etc.).

Nice To Haves

  • Additional skills and training may be required such as CNC programming, CAD layout, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (G, D&T), Lean Manufacturing principles, PLC programming, robotics, electrical and electronic troubleshooting, process capability theory and statistical process control (SPC).
  • Must exhibit good communication and interpersonal skills amongst shop floor and support staff.
  • Execute tasks per direction given, team member for projects.
  • Must have good hands on expertise in assigned manufacturing process.
  • PLC programming and electrical troubleshooting skills are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in Engineering design reviews for new and existing products.
  • Work with Engineering to define work methods and work sequences in the development of new products and processes.
  • Support daily shop floor operations, troubleshoot, and resolve production and quality issues, and implement process improvements.
  • Perform analysis, data collection, and document operator standard work.
  • Analyze, recommend, and implement layout and process flow improvements.
  • Develop workstation and line layouts, balancing of work content, determination of labor requirements, material handling and storage solutions, process documentation, and operator training as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
