About The Position

Operates mixing machine to blend ingredients into compounds for processing. This role involves verifying ingredients, loading them into the mixing tank, starting and adjusting the machine to achieve the desired consistency, and unloading the mixture. The position also requires cleaning and sanitizing equipment. The company, Pepper Source, is a family-owned business that develops and manufactures custom sauces, seasonings, and dry coating systems for major poultry companies, the frozen food industry, meat industry, and food service industry.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Must be able to speak, read and write in English.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions and procedure manuals.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
Basic knowledge of computers and the ability to input data into a computer.
Lift 50 pounds 100-200 times during the shift
Stand and/or walk for the duration of the shift
Use hands to finger, grip, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms
Talk and hear
Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

Responsibilities

Verifies ingredients prior to mixing batches.
Loads ingredients into mixing tank or blender.
Starts machine and adjusts valves or devices in mixing chamber to aid in blending and densifying mixture.
Operates machine until mixture reaches desired consistency, and turns lever to unload mixture into kettles, pick system, totes, drums, and/or hopper.
Cleans and sanitizes mixing tanks, kettles, pick system, pumps, pipes, blender, and/or hopper.
Other duties may be assigned.
