About The Position

Analog Devices (ADI) is seeking a Process Engineer to support MEMS manufacturing processes. This role involves driving process and equipment control, toolset qualification, continuous improvement, and developing new wafer-level capabilities. The engineer will work in a cleanroom environment, focusing on Photo, Etch, and Wafer Level Bond process areas, collaborating with senior engineers on MEMS manufacturing. Key responsibilities include driving continuous improvement for existing manufacturing processes, layers, and tools, performing root cause analysis for yield issues and excursions, and implementing corrective actions. The role also involves defining and developing new capabilities with development groups, establishing standards for equipment and process work, and reviewing key metrics related to safety, quality, output, and cost-effectiveness. The engineer will also develop expertise in technology and equipment changes, participate in capital acquisition, and ensure safe practices across toolsets. Additionally, the role may involve representing ADI at conferences.

Requirements

  • B.S. or M.S. in Chemical Engineering; Microelectronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline
  • Understanding of semiconductor device physics and electrical testing principles
  • Excellent technical problem solving & multi-tasking skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Power Point, Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Good communication and interaction skills – both verbal and written.
  • Data driven and ability to apply science theory and engineering concept.
  • Self-directing, self-motivated and ability to work in a dynamic environment, both individually and as team member.

Nice To Haves

  • Wafer fab experience or knowledge of semiconductor processing is a plus.
  • Knowledge of DOE, SPC, Project Management, and data analysis software/tools.

Responsibilities

  • Work in clean room Wafer Fab to perform duties in Photo, Etch, and Wafer level bond process areas.
  • Work with senior level engineers on MEMS manufacturing.
  • Drive continuous improvement for existing volume manufacturing processes, layers & tools.
  • Determine root cause analysis of yield issues, excursions, equipment down-time and implement corrective actions & robust solutions.
  • Define and develop new capabilities with development groups and other disciplines.
  • Establish clear standards for methods of equipment and/or process work amongst shift personnel and engineering groups.
  • Periodically review key metrics associated with Safety, Quality, Output and Value for Money on equipment and processes and drive associated initiatives.
  • Develop expertise of key technology changes/equipment platform changes and developments.
  • Participate in capital acquisition inclusive of definition, tool selection, installation and qualification for new technology or existing technologies.
  • Responsible for the safe practices across toolsets.
  • Representing ADI at business and technical conferences.
