About The Position

The General Laborer works mostly outdoors in industrial construction environments and performs a variety of tasks according to the needs of the job scope. The role includes operating a skid steer and forklift; assisting with industrial cleaning, job-site cleanup and preparation; and using hand tools. The employee must be willing to work outdoors in all types of weather or inside buildings without heating or air conditioning. The listed shift is 6:45 a.m. to 7 p.m., and the employee must be able to wear a respirator.

Requirements

• Must be able to wear a respirator.
• Knowledge of high-pressure hydro-blast equipment, including different tips and operating pressures from 10,000 psi to 40,000 psi.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Working understanding of safety principles, practices, and procedures.
• Excellent time-management skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to function in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• Ability to follow directions from a manager, lead, or superintendent and clarify responsibilities when needed.
• Ability to adapt methods to complete tasks, learn new skills, and work independently.
• Ability to arrive on time and ready to work.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and move up to 50 pounds routinely.
• Ability to climb ladders and stairways regularly throughout the work shift.
• Ability to stay alert while seated for extended periods when serving as a safety attendant.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and other tools and equipment safely and in a controlled manner.
• Must provide proof of successful completion of OSHA 10-hour training within 60 days of starting at hth companies.

Responsibilities

• Operate a skid steer and forklift on an industrial site.
• Assist with industrial cleaning, job-site cleanup, and preparation.
• Perform loading and unloading, cleaning, and shoveling.
• Operate a vac-truck and hydro-blasting equipment.
• Assist in organizing inventory and equipment.
• Promote a safe workplace by participating in safety training, identifying job hazards, wearing the correct PPE, and observing for the safety of oneself and others.
• Take care of company-owned or rented equipment.
• Champion a positive workplace and safety culture.
• Perform other duties and functions as required or assigned.
• Follow safety protocols and immediately report incidents, unsafe acts, or unsafe conditions to the site supervisor and safety manager.
• Inspect the site, tools, and equipment, and perform behavioral observations focused on safety and process improvement.
