About The Position

Douglassville Quarry, a division of H&K Group, Inc., is seeking a Maintenance person to support quarry production and maintenance. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, action-oriented, detail-oriented, and works well as part of a team. The candidate must be able to torch and weld.

The role includes performing plant maintenance, keeping work areas clean, learning plant functions and operations, and working with site personnel. Employees cross-train to learn plant jobs and provide coverage when needed. All work must follow MSHA and H&K safety policies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, such as a GED, from an accredited educational institution, or related experience and/or training; a combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to fit test and use appropriate personal protective equipment as needed.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job, including movement and lifting as relevant.
• Must be able to weld and torch.

Nice To Haves

• At least 3 months of related experience.
• Experience operating heavy equipment.
• Loader operation experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience working in a quarry, heavy civil construction, or another outdoor industrial setting.
• MSHA or other relevant safety certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform all work according to MSHA and H&K Safety policies.
• Perform plant maintenance.
• Maintain clean work areas, including catwalks, walkways, and the general plant area.
• Proactively learn plant functions and operations.
• Obtain the knowledge needed to complete assigned tasks.
• Take direction from and work as part of a team with all other site personnel.
• Cross-train to learn all plant jobs and substitute when necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
