The Process Quality Engineer will support and improve Foundry processes, including raw material charging, melting, metal treatment, chemistry control, DC casting, homogenization, and related material handling processes. This role involves monitoring and analyzing key process parameters, process capability, scrap, yield, downtime, and quality performance to identify improvement opportunities. The engineer will lead or support projects focused on scrap reduction, yield improvement, cost reduction, and process optimization. Responsibilities include establishing, documenting, and maintaining process standards, operating parameters, recipes, SOPs, work instructions, and process controls. The position requires performing process trials, data analysis, and structured problem-solving to enhance process stability and product quality, as well as leading and participating in root cause analysis and corrective actions for nonconformities. The engineer will develop and maintain Process FMEAs and Control Plans, identify process risks, and implement appropriate controls. Support for SPC, process capability analysis, Measurement System Analysis, and other statistical quality tools is expected. The role also involves organizing and conducting process, layered, and Quality System audits, supporting internal and external audits, and ensuring compliance with QMS requirements. Leading and supporting Kaizen and Continuous Improvement activities using Lean/Six Sigma methodologies, analyzing workflows, and establishing KPIs are key functions. The engineer will partner with Operations and Maintenance to troubleshoot issues, review process changes, and provide technical training to production personnel. Promoting continuous improvement and a data-driven approach is essential, along with performing other process engineering, quality, and continuous improvement activities as required.
