About The Position

The Process Quality Engineering (PQE) team operates at the intersection of Technology Development (TD) and High-Volume Manufacturing (HVM) in Boise, Idaho. The team focuses on contamination control across fab environments, enabling high product quality and yield. PQE partners with global teams to study contamination risks, implement mitigation strategies, and support consistent, scalable manufacturing processes. As a Process Quality Engineer, you will lead efforts in contamination control, new materials integration (NMI), and FOUP environment control. You will analyze contamination data, assess risk, and implement solutions that protect yield and product quality. This role works closely with cross-functional and global partners to improve processes, support new technology development, and drive continuous improvement in manufacturing environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field
  • 4–8 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing or process engineering
  • Experience with cleanroom contamination control, including AMC/AMS monitoring, testing methods, and facility systems
  • Strong understanding of analytical instrumentation, including accuracy, precision, detection limits, and system limitations
  • Knowledge of semiconductor process areas such as etch, films, photolithography, wet processes, and CMP
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multi-functional projects and influence partners across teams

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in high-volume manufacturing (HVM) within contamination control, process development, or process integration teams
  • Experience supporting or enabling new materials integration (NMI) workflows
  • Experience applying or developing AI-driven solutions in manufacturing or engineering environments
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
  • Effective communication skills with experience collaborating across global teams

Responsibilities

  • Analyze contamination data across process flows to identify trends, detect anomalies, and resolve out-of-control conditions
  • Apply data-driven and AI-enabled methods to develop, automate, and track risk-based solutions
  • Lead contamination control initiatives to improve yield, product quality, and process stability
  • Evaluate contamination risks and define tool-sharing protocols between technology development and manufacturing teams
  • Manage new materials integration (NMI) processes in partnership with process development, integration, and manufacturing teams
  • Conduct risk assessments across multiple technologies (e.g., DRAM, advanced DRAM, advanced packaging) and implement mitigation strategies
  • Develop and implement FOUP Environment Control (FEC) setups to support contamination control readiness
  • Partner with global teams and represent PQE in cross-site forums to align on standards and drive consistency
  • Identify and lead continuous improvement opportunities to enhance operations and deliver measurable impact

Benefits

  • Choice of medical, dental and vision plans
  • Benefit programs that help protect your income if you are unable to work due to illness or injury
  • Paid family leave
