About The Position

The Process Plant Operator is responsible for operating plant equipment based on accepted company procedures. The Operator is responsible for monitoring and optimization of all production process variables, ensuring that all equipment is operating at peak reliability and efficiency.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a relevant field.
  • Ability and willingness to work rotating on-call shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with Alcoa safety policies and procedures.
  • Actively support health, environment, and safety processes by performing daily activities within applicable regulations and policies, maintaining a safe working environment, and being prepared to respond to environmental or safety events.
  • Operate, troubleshoot, and repair gypsum dewatering and wastewater production equipment.
  • Utilize a computerized maintenance management system to create work orders for inventory and work planning/prioritization.
  • Report safety and quality of equipment maintenance items to the supervisor.
  • Monitor all process variables and make necessary adjustments in the processing plant based on quality specifications.
  • Start up and shut down belts, compressors, and pumps.
  • Operate and monitor the dewatering belt.
  • Maintain regular attendance, timeliness, and scheduling flexibility.
