The Process Operator is responsible for the operation of the computer controlled process equipment, cooker, machinery, and evaluation of any process problems in addition to performing product quality testing. The work schedule is for the Second Shift, from 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm. This role oversees the rendering process from raw material bin to finished goods storage, ensuring a steady flow of material to the cooker and maintaining optimal operating levels for temperature, rate, and steam. The operator monitors the evaporation rate, controls material flow to presses and storage, and operates the pollution control system. Responsibilities also include boiler start-up and operation, performing preventative maintenance, monitoring machinery, ensuring a clean work area after each shift, and maintaining safety as a top priority in accordance with company rules and regulations. The operator must also be aware of and responsible for their role in Darling's food safety program.
