Requirements

  • Five years of relevant work experience in chemical processes and/or a DEC or AEC (diploma or attestation of college studies) in chemical or industrial process techniques, chemical engineering or the equivalent
  • A Class 4 (or higher) static-equipment mechanic's qualification card/certificate
  • A valid Class 5 driver’s licence
  • A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Fluent in French – please submit your resume in FRENCH
  • Strong proven troubleshooting skills and the ability to make timely decisions
  • The ability to collaborate with others in order to achieve the best results and deliver the most value

Responsibilities

  • Conduct quality-control rounds and sampling at regular intervals with a critical eye for the operational process and equipment in use by demonstrating operational discipline
  • Monitor the status of current maintenance work regularly and perform light maintenance
  • Participate in unit and equipment shutdowns
  • Respond to emergencies and/or upset conditions in the units following established procedures
  • Participate in firefighting training and become a member of the firefighting team on shifts
  • Start up and shut down the equipment
  • Operate the Control Board
  • Take samples
  • Take action to resolve potential problems as soon as they are identified
  • Conduct pipe alignments, maintenance and all other task required to ensure smooth operations
