Position Summary : The Process Operator I is responsible for supporting our seed enhancement production process using seed technology processes meeting predetermined quality standards for internal and external customers. The Process Operator I will support the production process across one to three areas within the lifecycle of the production process. The day-to-day duties can range between blending, tanks, dry sizing, seed prep, production office, packing, and shipping and receiving. The Process Operator I will be required to move across the production floor and support production schedule using their knowledge and skill set across –one to three of the areas in which they are fully trained and assigned to for their scheduled shift.

Requirements

  • Minimum one year of production experience.
  • Forklift and pallet jack certified/experienced.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Computer skills are preferred.
  • Ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent attendance is crucial for the team to achieve success.
  • Strong organization skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Able to walk, sit, and/or stand for a minimum of 8 hours per day.
  • Required to move across production areas on uneven surfaces, climb stairs and ladders.

Responsibilities

  • The blending team will begin its tasks by viewing the schedule in SAP to see what is blending for that day.
  • The process orders will then be released by the blending team.
  • The blending team will go get all the components together to blend for the day.
  • After retrieving all components, the blending team will blend the order.
  • The blending team will then issue all the components to the process order.
  • The order is confirmed by the blending team and finally, labels are made to apply to the Tank or Triwalls.
  • Understanding of the interpretation of the daily production schedule.
  • After receiving the schedule, tanks begin to be filled with material for the next day.
  • During the day, the team may be required to replace tanks or switch material for the next set of production runs.
  • Responsible for ensuring the binder tanks are always full.
  • Based on the production schedule, collect seed from the Seed Room or Priming Room depending on where it is according to SAP.
  • Responsible for organizing seed/order in containers to prepare and deliver to production for processing.
  • Use SAP (technology) to track and document process.
  • Prints labels using the label printing system.
  • Does pelleted seed counts following the appropriate work instructions. Does raw seed counts when needed.
  • Posts completed orders in SAP.
  • Generates packing pages in SAP and provides them to packaging.
  • Does monthly inventories of labels and other inventoried items.
  • Prepares coating cards and seed labels for production personnel.
  • Review the “hit list” that the team lead prepares each day and responsible for packing all the orders on the daily “hit list” each day.
  • Gather the order ready to pack from Seed Room and order information card for each.
  • Verify information card with appropriate paperwork to ensure accuracy for packing.
  • Use specific equipment to prepare for packing in its appropriate containers that can range from boxes to pails.
  • Use packing equipment that requires attention to detail in setting weights and measurements according to specifics of order.
  • Label each box with appropriate label that is specific to customer and product.
  • Prepare final order that will be delivered to customer by the Shipping Department.
  • Complete the process by reviewing all documentation for accuracy and closing the order with the production office.
  • Inbounding seed – seed received by Incotec from Customer.
  • Reviewed by the inbound team and ensure that paperwork matches by weighing seed received, maintaining a copy of the bag in which the seed was received for documentation purposes, completing a seed count, and maintaining a sample.
  • Inbounding this in SAP begins after the previous steps.
  • An RH will be taken to ensure the moisture is acceptable.
  • A handwritten SIR will be completed with all information.
  • Inventory seed received and place in sealed bags with proper order information documentation and placed in Seed Room ready for production processing.
  • After each order is closed out from the production office, and orders are scanned to customer service and the shipping team.
  • Use SAP to determine next steps, if the order is to wait for germ lab or ready to be delivered.
  • Once completed, pallets are wrapped and staged for delivery.
  • Make arrangements with UPS, FedEx or XPO for order delivery.
  • Collaborate and communicate with Customer Service Department to ensure customer needs and expectations are met.
  • Responsible for using SAP (technology) to document the process.
  • Responsible for domestic shipments and international shipments (each one has different requirements).
  • Understand seedsmanship and be constantly aware of product and watchful for contamination possibilities. Alert supervisor of any problems with seed, coating, recovery etc.
  • Maintains a safe work environment by using the protective equipment to prevent personal injury to themselves or to others working nearby.
  • To use ISO Work Instruction for all processes or procedures that are performed.
  • Report unsafe conditions or situations to supervisor immediately.
  • Supports other departments as needed
