About The Position

The Process Operator I is responsible for independently performing various positions and their attendant job responsibilities, including Bagger/Strapper Operator, Boxer Operator, Filler, or Middle Operator. This role reports to the Production Supervisor or Line Supervisor and interfaces with other Production Operators, including Shipping/Receiving personnel. It requires close liaison with, and support and coordination of, quality control and meeting customer demand. Additional reporting lines include the Plant Superintendent, Production Manager, and Plant Manager. Key competencies for this role include being a self-starter, working independently, using logic and reason to solve problems, adapting to changing workplace variables, engaging in constructive debate, communicating effectively, being persistent, working harmoniously with others, accepting responsibility, and acting as a leader in achieving group targets. The operator is expected to work proactively, anticipating potential problems, opportunities, and challenges.

Requirements

For Bagger/Strapper and Mixer Positions – Use and proficiency on respective machine computers.
Ability to fill out and complete production and safety paperwork.

Nice To Haves

High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

Independently performing any of the following positions and their attendant job responsibilities – Bagger/Strapper Operator, Boxer Operator, Filler or Middle Operator

Promotes the quality system through adhering to the elements of and being familiar with the philosophy, quality statement, quality manual, and procedures.
Maintains a safe working environment.
Follows all safety rules and procedures.
Responsible for visual quality of product.
Maintains work station; keeps clean, organized and safe of tripping hazards.
Bagger/Strapper Operator – Accurately weighs and measures raw materials as required.
Boxer Operator – Accurately stamps or labels boxes as required.
Middle Operator – Performs process for splicing into production line surfacing fabrics and film as needed. Maintains the operation of the entire middle section of the line in relation to quality specification and product requirements. Maintains the operation of the press rollers and cooling process of the sheet. Sets up raw materials. Assists for set up in product changes.
Coatings Operators – Accurately weighs and measures raw materials and fills raw materials as required.
Performs other duties as required.
