As part of the Division Quality - Metrology group, the Process/Metrology Engineer leads metrology technology transfer from R&D to production lines and provides technical leadership in metrology problem solving. The role leads metrology projects from concept through implementation to support R&D-to-manufacturing transfer and production readiness, including metrology planning, gauge development, system qualification, deployment, and production release. The engineer collaborates with QA, engineering, manufacturing, software, and controls teams to implement robust measurement solutions. The role develops metrology strategies that consider gauge capability and capacity, lead time, and cost; surveys, develops, deploys, and qualifies gauges and measurement systems for critical product characteristics; and designs, improves, and validates test methods. It also supports the development of fixtures and tools, measurement data reporting and analysis applications, operator interfaces, data collection systems, and databases. The engineer documents gauge engineering and operating instructions, prepares measurement-system development and qualification reports, trains users, and provides technical support. The role leads second-level troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and sustainable corrective actions for plant gauges. It also drives gauge alignment, MSA, and metrology standardization across internal plants, contract manufacturers, and customer sites as needed, while evaluating gauge capability and capacity and promoting continuous improvement and long-term capability development. Domestic travel is approximately 5%, depending on project stage and schedule. The position is 40 hours per week, with work hours as needed to deliver projects and support requirements.
