About The Position

Hunton Trane, a division of Hunton Group, has an exciting opportunity for a Process Mechanical Engineer. The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting the design, specification, and execution of mechanical and PSV systems for EPC projects. This role collaborates with engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to deliver high-quality projects safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and customer requirements. Requirements

  • Bachelor's of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5–10 years of experience in EPC or project-based environments.
  • Strong knowledge of static and rotating equipment design and selection.
  • Experience preparing datasheets, MTOs (Material Take-Offs), and technical specifications.
  • Familiarity with international codes and standards (ASME, API, etc.).
  • Experience working with engineering design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Navisworks, Pipeflo, Bluebeam, or similar).
  • Ability to read and interpret PFDs, P&IDs, and Isometric Drawings.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, LNG, or power projects.
  • Familiarity with 3D modeling environments and EPC workflows.
  • Experience with project management tools and document control systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design and size mechanical equipment, including pumps, piping systems, and pressure relief systems.
  • Prepare and review mechanical datasheets, specifications, and requisitions for procurement.
  • Perform hydraulic calculations, pressure drop analysis, pump calculations, and pressure relief calculations.
  • Review vendor quotations, technical bids, and drawings; provide recommendations for selection.
  • Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure compliance with project specs.
  • Interface with multidisciplinary teams (process, piping, civil, electrical, instrumentation) to ensure integrated design.
  • Review and approve vendor documents such as GA drawings, fabrication details, and calculations.
  • Support construction and commissioning teams by resolving technical queries and field issues.
  • Participate in model design reviews and risk assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (ASME, API, ANSI, ISO) and client specifications.
  • Assist in project scheduling, cost estimation, and progress tracking for the process mechanical scope.
