About The Position

The Pratt & Whitney Compression Systems Manufacturing Center (CSMC) in Middletown, Connecticut is seeking a Process Manufacturing Engineer. With specific process ownership, this role will provide direct troubleshooting support to the manufacturing shop floor and drive improvement across those specific manufacturing processes. Processes include conventional machining such as milling, turning, and drilling.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related STEM major

Nice To Haves

Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience
Experience reading and interpreting complex blueprints
Experience in project management tools like MS Projects
Proficiency in statistics, data analytics, DOE, and multivariate statistics
Previous experience with working on Rotating Gas Turbine Parts
Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects

Responsibilities

Identify & implement process optimization & process control methods to eliminate quality turn backs/escapes and reduce overall product costs through the specific process.
Perform Root cause analysis and corrective actions on non-conforming products for responsible processes using statistical analysis tools and other methods as necessary.
Drive targeted manufacturing process optimization activities using MRL tools such as Process Flow Diagram, PFMEA, Control Plans, Measurement Systems Analysis, Yield & Cost curves and Qualification plan.
Schedule and facilitate periodic project reviews and ensure validation.
Use effective scorecards and metrics to ensure progress.
